Recently rented the Caterpillar 304 for a landscaping project, and it performed decently. Transitioning from my usual 303.5, it offered slightly greater capacity, which was handy. However, without a tilt rotator attachment, some angle work took longer than anticipated. The engine was responsive, and fuel economy felt standard for its class. One minor setback was the manual bucket change mechanism; it's serviceable but slows efficiency. Despite these hitches, it’s a capable mini excavator.

Coming from experience operating the Caterpillar 304E, I've found the control layout intuitive and the general build reliable over extended use. Yet, I consider room for improvement in seating comfort, especially in prolonged operations. Its fuel efficiency meets expectations, which is significant.

I’ve operated the Caterpillar 304 E2 for some time now. Its nimbleness and capability in tight spaces are remarkable, aided by the offset boom. The rubber tracks provide excellent stability without damaging softer terrain. However, the fixed blade limits certain grading possibilities. The inclusion of heat and AC in the cab enhances user comfort significantly. Maintenance-wise, frequent greasing can be cumbersome yet essential for enduring functionality.

I recently had the chance to operate the Caterpillar 304 excavator, and I found several aspects worth mentioning. The machine's engine performed reliably during my tasks, ensuring consistent power. I noticed the enclosed cab provided decent protection, though the lack of a door might be an inconvenience for some. Transitioning between ISO and John Deere controls was smooth due to its adaptable settings. The auxiliary hydraulics worked well, but the burnt-out work lamps could limit nighttime operations. Overall, it got the job done effectively.

Used the updated Caterpillar 304 during a project recently. Noticed significant changes in its operational efficiency after adjustments were made to its dynamic controls. However, transitioning to a smoother hydraulic setup could still be refined further. Tasks that require high attention to detail had visible improvement, though reliability under heavy load wasn't entirely consistent. Overall, fairly dependable for most applications.

I've been operating the Caterpillar 304 for a few months now. The cruise control is a real game-changer for those longer runs. The stick steer feature is intuitive, though it took me a bit to adapt. The visibility from the cab is excellent, and the ergonomic seat keeps things comfortable during extended use. My main gripe? The lack of a touch screen in this modern age - it's a bit disappointing. Overall, the machine delivers solid performance where it counts.

I've put about 20 hours on the Cat 304 so far, so not a long test drive but enough to get some proper first impressions. That LCD touchscreen thing is straightforward, no messy menu diving, and honestly, it's way easier to deal with when you're tired or jumping between machines. The hydraulic response is actually better than I expected for the size, you don't get that laggy feel some smaller rigs have. Cab space is good, even when you're not a small dude like me. Visibility with those split windows is solid. Only gripe so far: haven't really tried out the stick steer or cruise control, so can't comment on those, but I kind of wish the operator's manual gave more detail there. Price-wise, it's not cheap, that's for sure, but you get what you need in terms of performance.

Tried the Caterpillar 304 for a week. The electronic pump stands out-it adjusts performance seamlessly to workload changes, ensuring smooth operation. However, while the 1.7 turbo engine handles tasks well, it might seem undersized for heavier loads. Good for precise, efficient work.

I've worked with the Caterpillar 304E2 for some time now. The machine generally performs well for various jobs, with its cab providing a comfortable experience. However, I noticed that the 304E2's hydraulic power feels slightly reduced when handling heavier loads compared to the older style models. This aspect could be considered when selecting a mini excavator for specific tasks.

I recently operated the Caterpillar 304 and had mixed feelings. The machine showed improvement after some recalibration regarding its hydraulic system, particularly with its arm pressure regulation which now functions more consistently. However, it still occasionally struggles with maintaining consistent pressure in rigorous tasks. That said, it's suitable for medium-level jobs, provided maintenance checks are regular. Might need further tweaking to enhance reliability over consistent operation hours.
