So I rented the Caterpillar 304 for a week-long landscaping task. The diesel engine starts reliably, with great fuel efficiency. One thing to note is the hydraulic thumb convenience-it made lifting uneven rocks manageable. The undercarriage stability impressed me; however, during operation on loose gravel, I felt subtle vibrations which could improve. A solid machine overall for small to medium-scale jobs.
