Been running a Canter FG 4x4 around quarries and occasionally on paved highway sections. Engine's gutsy enough for what I need, and hill start stuff helps with heavy loads staring at a climb. Manual shift out of the dash takes a bit to get used to but keeps the cab floor open which I actually like for moving around. Suspension could use a rethink, rides hard unless fully loaded, so if you're empty you feel every bump. Never had it give up on me though, solid reliability after some heavy days. Not the cheapest for up front buy but running costs are manageable.

My company swapped us to Canters from some older vans for landscaping work. You can tell it's a lighter truck-easy to jump in and out of, only two steps and you're up. The crew cab option's handy, we've fit the whole team in. Interior feels a bit dated but you get used to it quick. Dashboard’s no nonsense, nothing fancy to get confused with. Loads of storage tucked away, but door pockets are tiny. Engine's strong enough even on the lower spec, haven't felt it struggle yet. Bit noisy at first startup, then it's fine after a few mins. Turning circle is tight, helps getting around sites and side streets. Warranty's decent, can't complain about service so far. Kinda wish the seat had more padding though after a full day. Not perfect, but solid kit for city work.

Been driving the Canter for a while now on mixed jobs. The biggest thing for me is always cab comfort and noise in the cabin. Fuso's cab is roomy and the noise dampening is decent, doesn't get on my nerves during longer drives. The driver's seat is adjustable so I finally stopped getting lower back pain after a day on the road. Steering column is adjustable too which helps if you swap with another driver often. The ride is smooth most of the time, although the suspension is more built for handling heavy loads, so it’s a bit bumpy when running empty. Overall, the controls are straightforward, nothing fancy but everything’s where it should be. Only real complaint, it's still a work truck inside - mostly plastics, not a ton of flair.

So me and my brother got a used Fuso Canter TF for our logistics gig, been running it full loads and city routes. Fuel numbers are okay, we're averaging what, like 13 litres on bad days, that's fine. Big plus for me is parts being easy to find, cause our last truck was a pain, always waiting weeks for stuff to get shipped. Maintenance costs haven't surprised us, which is rare. Only headache we ran into was with the ABS sensor, had to replace it fast, so that's kinda annoying. Otherwise, engine just keeps on going and hasn't given us trouble. Wouldn't say it's perfect, but it's handled the work way better than some others in the fleet.

Used a Canter crew cab for site work. Rear diff lock's been useful in mud and tight spots, and the thing feels way more nimble than you'd think for its size. Needed the wider cab for extra space, still feels a bit cramped with three crew in there for longer jobs. I keep hearing about hybrid ones but haven't seen them outside fleets yet. Real bonus is the selection of wheelbases and the payload is solid. Maintenance hasn't given me any headaches - pretty straightforward so far.
